Job Description

As part of the engineering and design team,the outside plant designer shall:

Create area plans, detaileddesigns, and documentation according to the engineering standards andguidelines provided for cost-optimized designs.
Ensure the quality and timelydelivery of area planning, detailed designs, and documentation.
Ensure safety in designs byconsidering health, environmental and heritage issues as appropriate.
Identify risks in designs andmitigate them through due diligence.
Actively seek feedback fromsenior designers and provide recommendations for improving planning and designprocedures.
Assist the team in providinginputs for process improvement and optimizing design rules.
Ensure that area plans anddetailed design deliverables are well-defined and effectively communicated.

Requirements

- 5 to 10 years of experience inplanning, design, and detailed documentation of OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP(Inside Plant) communications networks.

- Experience and understanding ofCore, Transport, Distribution, and Access networks, including active and passivedevices across Fiber, Copper, and HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) technologies.

- Experience and understanding ofaerial, underground, and intra-building design standards.

- Experience with MDU (MultipleDwelling Units) design, aerial design, Pole Make Ready designs (PLA/MRE), IFPdesign, permits, and CDs is an added advantage.

- Strong knowledge of GIS-relatedplatforms, systems, and tools such as AutoCAD Map 3D, Ocalc, SpidaCalc, QuickPole, Megallan, 3GIS, ARAMIS, IRIS, ArcGIS, SpatialNET, QGIS, Smallworld, MapInfo,and IQGeo.

- Experience in ensuring thetimely delivery and approval of area plans and detailed designs.

- Experience in quality checking,providing feedback to the team, and ensuring that high-quality designs aredelivered on time.
