Job Description
Overall Responsibility:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide mapping support to all CBRE Advisory's location mapping requirements (products), including supporting regional research analysis, demographic capabilities and general mapping outputs to support other aspects of the wider business.
This role covers varied local commercial, industrial, retail property markets throughout Asia and Pacific.
Mapping outputs are used across many divisions of the company to support location consulting assignments, client specific documents and public reports.
In addition to satisfying the existing requirements of the business, emphasis will be placed on the integration of the mapping function with Research to define and develop regional analytical outputs to support business development, market publications and consulting engagements.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the GIS Analyst is required to adopt skills and techniques specific to the function, encourage innovation and work collaboratively with the Advisory team and internal/external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an integrated part of CBREs Advisory Team, provide regional analytical outputs as a key component of business development, marketing and consultancy.
- Prepare standard demographic reports on an ad-hoc basis for geographies and catchments across PAN INDIA in a timely manner.
- Produce maps to scale for locations across PAN INDIA, utilizing ESRI mapping software/ AnySite/ MapInfo software.
- Provide support in the collection of data for geospatial consulting assignments.
- Maintain mapping specific databases and assist in the compilation of mapping presentations.
- Support GIS and mapping requirements within CBRE business lines, automating processes where applicable.
Experience:
- Preferred that the candidate has experience working in the commercial, industrial, retail and residential property sector, location or network planning or an allied field.
- Desirable to have at least 3 years of experience with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo, Anysite, QGIS, Google Earth).
- Experience with the ESRI products using editing tools and performing spatial analysis.
- Relevant experience using current ESRI technology and leveraging the full ArcGIS enterprise suite of tools ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, Web App Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards and Story Maps.
- (Optional) Experience in operating Data Analytics tools such as Alteryx, and visualizations in Tableau
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- A broad understanding of the locations of some of the main cities and property markets in Asia Pacific.
- Knowledge of demographic data sources across Asia and the ability to calibrate and cross-check data, using your interpretive skills to spot inconsistencies in information and views.
- Strong analytical mind and ability to learn and develop new skills and techniques specific to GIS and the mapping function.
- A high degree of computer literacy in the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
- The ability to think logically and creatively and to be able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written mediums, across all facets of communication.
- The capability to meet work programme deadlines and to prioritize when faced with short and long term tasks.
- Common sense with a helpful and flexible attitude in dealing with property staff of all levels within the organization requiring information; often on an immediate basis.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be tertiary qualified with graduate qualification or prior experience in Property, Geography, Economics or Town Planning.
