Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and related frameworks.
- Automate data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes across multiple data sources (structured/unstructured).
- Build and maintain data automation frameworks for processing large datasets efficiently.
- Develop reusable Python scripts, modules, and workflows for data processing.
- Work with databases and data warehouses to optimize query performance and data storage.
- Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Integrate ETL pipelines with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business teams to support data needs.
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot failures or bottlenecks.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and ensure automation best practices.
- Document ETL processes, data flows, and technical specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 59 years of experience in ETL development and data engineering.
- Strong programming expertise in Python (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark).
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools/frameworks such as:
- Apache Airflow / Luigi / Prefect
- Informatica / Talend / SSIS (optional but useful)
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience working with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) is a plus.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Star schema, Snowflake schema, data modeling).
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML data handling.
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Experience in log monitoring, debugging, and error handling.
Good to Have Skills
- Experience with cloud data services:
- AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda)
- Azure (Data Factory, Synapse)
- GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration and scheduling tools (Airflow preferred).
- Exposure to streaming tools (Kafka, Kinesis).
- Basic understanding of data governance and security practices.

- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy.
