Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade and Hitachi VSP/HCP storage systems
- Design and manage SAN and NAS environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and redundancy.
- Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimization for mission-critical applications
- Implement and manage replication, snapshots, and backup strategies across multiple data centers
- Work closely with VMware, Linux, and Windows teams to allocate and optimize storage resources
- Ensure data availability, integrity, and security in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.)
- Monitor and analyze system performance using vendor tools (Pure1, Hitachi Ops Center, etc.) and third-party monitoring solutions
- Automate provisioning and monitoring tasks using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
- Participate in capacity forecasting and budget planning for storage growth.
- Maintain documentation of configurations, topology diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate firmware upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management for storage systems. Collaborate with backup, DR, and cloud teams to ensure end-to-end data protection and recovery readiness
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for storage-related incidents and performance issues.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience in enterprise storage administration and architecture
- Hands-on expertise with Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade solutions (installation, configuration, replication, snapshots, and Pure1 management).
- Strong experience with Hitachi VSP/HCP storage systems and Hitachi Ops Center / Command Suite
- Solid understanding of SAN/NAS technologies, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NFS/CIFS
- Experience with Brocade or Cisco SAN switches, zoning, and multipathing.
- Familiarity with VMware, Windows, and Linux storage integration
- Strong knowledge of backup and replication technologies (Veeam, Commvault, or similar
- Proficient in performance analysis and capacity planning
- Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible)
Preferred Qualifications
- Vendor certifications such as: Pure Storage Certified Implementation Professional (PSCIP) Hitachi Vantara Certified Professional Storage Administration Brocade Certified Fabric Professional Experience with cloud storage integration (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments)
- Familiarity with data protection, DR, and business continuity planning. Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, finance, or government
- Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across infrastructure, network, and application teams
- High attention to detail and commitment to uptime and data integrity.
