Job Description for Shopify Developer (A Level):
Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile Shopify Developer with expertise in both Theme and App Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building custom Shopify themes, developing powerful Shopify apps, and ensuring seamless integration with third-party services. This role requires technical excellence, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of Shopify's ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Theme Development
- Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Create engaging, responsive, and user-friendly storefront experiences using Shopify's Online Store 2.0 features.
- Collaborate with designers to convert Figma/PSD designs into pixel-perfect Shopify themes.
- Customize Shopify's checkout, cart, and product detail pages.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and optimal performance.
- Optimize stores for SEO and page speed.
App Development
- Design and build custom Shopify apps using Node.js, React.js, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Develop custom features, automations, and integrations to extend Shopify store functionality.
- Work with Shopify's Admin API, Storefront API, and webhooks to enhance store capabilities.
- Implement OAuth authentication and ensure app security best practices.
- Develop both public and private apps to support various business requirements.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform code reviews, write unit tests, and maintain high coding standards.
- Troubleshoot issues, debug errors, and provide timely solutions.
- Ensure smooth integration with third-party platforms such as ERPs, CRMs, and payment gateways.
- Stay updated with Shopifys latest features, tools, and development standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience (both theme and app development).
- Proficient in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Strong experience in building custom Shopify themes and implementing Online Store 2.0 architecture.
- Expertise in developing Shopify apps using Node.js, React.js, and Express.js.
- Experience with Shopifys REST/GraphQL APIs, Polaris UI framework, and webhooks.
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT authentication, and secure app development practices.
- Strong debugging skills and experience working with version control systems like Git.
