Role & responsibilities
SANBlaze is currently expanding our international presence for our key OEM accounts in India.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Field Application Engineer, working in Bangalore, will be the technical liaison between our key storage customers in the region and our Massachusetts based home office.
The FAE will become an expert with the SANBlaze emulation test systems and will work directly with customers as they integrate the SANBlaze test platform into engineering development, validation, and manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and resolve complex technical issues in support of our key OEM accounts in India.
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Excellent interpersonal skills performing Direct Onsite support activities for our major accounts.
- Integrating SANBlaze products into existing customer validation test infrastructure
- Writing test scripts in Python in support of our API infrastructure and other automation-based test framework.
- Product Training focused on best practices for SANBlaze applications and customer specific use cases.
- Complement our Massachusetts QA team with resolution of complex technical issues and implementation of product enhancements as appropriate.
- Working directly with the Sales Team, identify new sales opportunities and deliver product demonstrations.
While reporting to the Sr. Vice President, the ideal candidate will work directly and support our key Storage OEM accounts in the region. We are looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer who, after product training, can match sales opportunities with our current capabilities, and help enhance the product based on customer feedback and requirements.
Preferred candidate profile
The right candidate will ideally be based in Bangalore and should have experience and understanding of both NVMe based storage devices and NVMe over Fabric protocols, as well as experience with SAS, FC and SCSI technologies. In addition, a thorough understanding of the NVMe Storage Specification.
The preferred candidate should also have a basic understanding of the business environment and business practices of the region.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS/MS in Computer Science
- Minimum of 5 years in a highly technical position
- Strong knowledge of Linux
- Solid knowledge of NVMe, SAS, FC, SCSI, and iSCSI Specifications
- Storage architecture (SSDs, AFAs, FC, iSCSI, FCoE, Array, LUN, RAID, Samba, nfs, ceph, hadoop)
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, Network Routing and RDMA
- Approximately 25-50% travel out of town remainder of work at customer sites locally
- Previous OEM account technical support experience
