Job Description
Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Long-Term Forecasting and Planning team. Youll work with advanced algorithms, distributed systems, and large-scale data technologies to build highly scalable services that power Amazon s worldwide customer demand, inventory, and cube forecasting. Your work will drive inventory and cube plans for millions of products across Amazon s global fulfillment network and influence multi-billion-dollar build decisions. This program is building a brand-new forecasting platform that delivers coherent, accurate, global-scale predictions. We re looking for an engineer with strong ownership, deep technical skills, and a passion for tackling complex problems at massive scale.We are a group that has fun at work while driving incredible customer, business impact. Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, deploy, maintain, document and deliver large-scale, highly distributed, real-time and management systems that are core to effectively managing the supply chain business. Use Java, python, object-oriented (OO) design patterns, NoSQL databases, and data modeling techniques. Design PB scale big-data processing solutions leveraging latest AWS solutions. Gather and analyze business and functional requirements and translate business requirements into technical design specifications. o Serve as a key technical resource in the full development cycle. Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation. Recommend changes in development, maintece and system standards. Work with Senior and Principal Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers across multiple teams to design software solutions for optimizing supply chain management Work in an agile development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff. About the teamWe are the LTPF team under Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT). SCOT is the name of a complex group of systems designed to make the best decisions when it comes to forecasting, buying, placing, and shipping inventory. Functionally these teams work together to drive in-stock, drive placement, drive inventory removal and manage the customer experience. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
