Job Description Server Engineer (L2 Wintel & VMware)

We are looking for an L2 Server Engineer with strong experience in Windows Server, VMware, and Data Center operations. The engineer will act as the onsite SPOC at the Mazagon Dock Data Center (Mumbai) and manage end-to-end IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization, networking coordination, security, backups, and DR environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support Windows Servers, HP/Dell hardware, and OS patching.
  
• Administer VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and handle virtualization issues.
  
• Daily monitoring of servers, logs, jobs, system health, and performance.
  
• Coordinate with networking, security, and OEM teams for issue resolution.
  
• Handle DR sites (Main DC, Near DR, Far DR) and support DR drills & replication tools (Carbonite DoubleTake).
  
• Manage incident & problem tickets (L2 level).
  
• Perform installations, upgrades, firmware updates, and system hardening.
  
• Ensure compliance, documentation, and audit readiness.
  
• Work onsite MondayFriday (Saturday support for DC maintenance if required).
