The bid manager will be the first point of contact for the client and will liaise with estimators who produce the price element of a bid. He/She needs to deal with complex business relationships and manage multiple resources to deliver a strong, winning case to the prospective client.
The bid manager will be responsible for understanding the RFQs, tender requirements and submitting a completed bid to an existing or prospective client, on time and within budget. Working under the direction of Management, the role involves leading all day-to-day aspects of an individual bid.
Key Responsibilities:
  • He/She should support the End to End Bid Management service for the production of quality proposal documents prepared in response to typically complex, high value, high risk formal RFP/ RFQ/ RFIs.
  • He/She has to ensure that all the clients questions have been answered as fully as possible, understanding the gaps and that the organization has given itself the best
  • possible chance of success.
  • Must ensures that a high quality competitive and compelling bid is produced and delivered to the Customer. Must prepare the Bid Synopsis for the management s approval.
  • Must provide comprehensive Bid Management support to the Customer Teams (CTs) in answering RFP/RFQ issued by different customers.
  • He/She will be involved in every aspect of the consolidation of bid documents and submission; must have an excellent appreciation of what the client needs and how best to
  • articulate how our organization can provide that.
  • Use relevant tools during the bid preparation and approval cycle including CRM systems to ensure proper tracking of the offers.
  • After the bid submission, supports the Customer Team in offer defense, bid clarifications or negotiations with the customer (as and when requested).
  • Ensures that all offers submitted are properly archived and accessible to users who have been authorized access to such information.
  • Should be adept at approaching and working closely with the third-party vendors.
  • Must coordinate with different internal business & support teams to secure the required resources for related Presales activities.
  • Prepares weekly/monthly reports related to the BM activities within his/her domain of responsibility.
  • The candidate must have 3+ years of experience in Bid management (Big & Small) preferably in the Telecom Solution domain.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and closing multi-million dollar deals.
Must have:
  • Should have worked on Government tenders related to Telecom and IT requirement
  • Should have worked on Gem Portal, e tenders & govt Bidding Portals.
  • Should have working knowledge of e-portals for online bid submission
Technical Skills:
  • Must have a good understanding of BM job tools needed for documenting activities (i.e. responsibility matrix, project schedule)
  • Mus demonstrate a consistent understanding of how the organization generates profit and manages costs
  • Fair global understanding of the Telecom industry (practices, concepts, competition and regulatory environment).
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office esp. Excel, Word and PPT
Other Skills:
  • Time management, efficiency, the ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision are all important.
  • He/she should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute the Sales in line with organization s goal.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Presales domain with a thorough understanding and experience of customer engagement typically within the offer development and negotiations cycle.
  • The ideal Bid Manager should be highly motivated, innovative, customer focused and have a can do attitude.
Communication Skills :
Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to understand, make recommendations on, and convey technical issues and solutions to a range of stakeholders, both internal and external;. Good presentational skills for conveying complex concepts & should also be an articulate, confident speaker. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
