Job Description for Network Engineer L2 Experience: 8 to 12 Years in IT Network Qualifications: BE, B-TECH, Any graduation Primary roles: - Responsible for Level 3/Level 2 support and escalations for network and security issues. - Configure , install and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, etc. - Perform/coordinate maintenance and upgrades of network devices. - Good understanding of routing mechanisms and routing protocols OSPF, ISIS and BGP with working experience in the same. - Good understanding of switching protocols such as STP, RSTP, PVST and MST with working experience in the same. - Good understanding of VTP and its implementations. - Understanding/familiarity of SD-WAN technologies would be an added advantage. - Good understanding of Cisco DataCenter technologies with experience in implementing and managing DataCenter networks is essential. - VXVLAN, Cisco ACI Fabric and other DataCenter related technologies. - Good. understanding and working knowledge of Remote Access VPN solutions. Workingexperience on the same would be added advantage. - Clear understanding of network services such as DHCP, DNS, FTP, etc. - Understanding of technologies used in Large Enterprise is beneficial. - Willing to travel when required for any implementation, assessment or other activities which require onsite presence. - Review daily reports and create actionable task lists. - Liaise with other teams for resolution of the issues. Secondary roles: - Good understanding of Wireless technologies and their working, including implementation of Wirelesscontrollers, integration with wireless authentication methodologies. - Understanding of firewall technologies. Experience on firewalls, including configuration of NAC, NAT, VPN and Policy Management would be beneficial. - Knowledge of Aruba ,Extreme and CiscoWi-Fi solutions is an added advantage. - Knowledge of Arubaor , Extreme and Cisco NAC solutions is an added advantage. - Knowledge of Aruba COP or Cisco DNA Centersolutions is an added advantage. - Proactively handle all network,wireless and security solutions or tools as required. - Good understanding of functioning of network monitoring tools and their integrations with the network/security devices. Requirements: - Work in multi-vendor environment (Cisco,Extreme,Aruba , Juniper , HP , Dell ). Experience on Juniper networks devices would be beneficial. - Ability to work independently and involve vendor assistance when required. - Provide guidance to team when required. - Analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Good communication skills. - Monitor network to ensure optimum performance, reliability, and availability. - Perform maintenance and upgrades of network devices. - Check on resource utilisation for trending and capacity planning purposes. - CCNP, DataCenter technology certification and experience would be added advantage. - Should be a quick learner and willing to work on additional technologies when implemented.
