Job Description
Job Title: US Payroll Accounting Specialist
Location: WFO, Madhapur, Hyderabad
Shift: 4pm to 01am IST or 8pm to 5am IST (15 days rotational)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accounting Specialist with 25 years of experience to manage payroll accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and related audits. This role involves working closely with global stakeholders and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance in payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process monthly payroll reports and ensure accurate accounting of payroll transactions.
- Handle Full & Final Settlements and process related journal entries.
- Book payroll-related accruals such as annual bonuses, incentives, restructuring costs, and true-up entries.
- Ensure proper accounting of employee deductions and timely tax deposits to government authorities.
- Manage accounting for employee benefits schemes including insurance, 401(k), retirement, and defined contribution pension plans.
- Perform reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve aged open items.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes specific to payroll.
- Prepare monthly close reports and conduct variance analysis across multiple entities.
- Extract, modify, and analyze payroll data and reports, responding to queries and ensuring data accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits, delivering necessary payroll-related audit documentation.
- Maintain and periodically update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all payroll processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 25 years of relevant experience in payroll accounting, finance, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, journal entries, and benefits accounting.
- Hands-on experience in reconciliations, accruals, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Skills & Qualification:
- MBA / M.com in Finance specialisation with 3 to 8 years (or) CA / CMA with 2 to 5 years of experience in Payroll Accounting.
