Principal Engineer - Bengaluru/Bangalore @ HARMAN

• Guide and assist the team in designing complex software modules

• Build a holistic view of the System Software Stack and understand the impact of design change on system functionality and performance

• Analyze and derive technical requirements from system requirements and translate them to Software designs.

• Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the designed architecture

• Prepare effective and impactful technical presentation to customers

• Choose best technology/design pattern that fits the problem in hand such that the solution to the problem is functional, robust, scalable and performant.

• Provide support in winning new business through effective technical proposals.

• Support in ensuring quality through effective design and code review

• Mentor team members to build domain knowledge

• Build a vision and understanding to identify the technical dependencies & technical risks at the early stage of a project

• Support in preparing schedule and effort to meet customer milestones

• Ensure that Software Design artifacts are in sync the implementation

• Support the project and quality team to achieve automotive certifications like ASPICE

• Effective Interface with customers to handle customer queries, concerns and change management requests

• Collaborate with distributed stakeholders including HARMAN vendors and internal groups. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups

• Inculcate the culture of innovation and patent creation

Qualifications:

• Masters/Bachelors in Computer Engineering/science or Electrical / Electronics / Comm. Engineering

Desired experience

• 10+ yrs. of hands-on experience in Infotainment/Cockpit System SW Development/Design for Automotive Electronics systems.

• Good experience in working with Type-1 and Type-2 hypervisors like Xen on ARM, Green-Hills Microvisor, Open Synergy, QNX.

• Good experience in designing system software for automotive use cases for Cockpit systems.

• Good experience in debugging and triaging system performance issues

• Expert in Embedded Linux

• Expert in C, C++, build and debugging tools

• Good experience working with Android Framework internals

• Working knowledge of Device tree configuration, Linux device drivers, secure boot flow.

• Good experience working with ARMv8 based Multi-core SoCs including internal knowledge of Virtualization extensions, ARM Trust Zone, GIC and SMMU.

• Experience in Agile methodologies

• Good experience working with tools like gerrit/GIT, Enterprise Architect, JIRA, Perforce, etc.
