Hiring Position: Capacity Planning Analyst
Hiring Location: Hyderabad
Desirable Experience: 6 to 8 years
Academic Qualification: Any bachelors degree
This role will be responsible for the enforcement of effective Capacity Management Processes to ensure IT services and infrastructure met the agreed requirements. You will work across client's IT and Business Units to ensure that required IT infra resources are available and efficiently utilized.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Setup and continually improve Capacity Management process.
Build and maintain Capacity Plan.
Create, maintain, and use a Capacity Management System (CMS). Enable capacity planning for services/ applications and support developing scalability plans.
Reduce the adverse effect on the business of incident and problems caused by capacity related issues in the infrastructure and to proactively prevent the occurrence of such incidents and problems.
Collaborate with monitoring tools to ensure required capacity and monitoring and tools configuration to get output required for capacity analysis are met.
Examine current workloads function and how efficient they are at present and peak times. Running what if workload scenarios and testing the capacity demands.
Proactive prevention of issues forecast, trend analysis, targeting support action and communication. Ensures that capacity-related incidents and problems are addressed. Attend performance related issues & provide solutions from the capacity point of view.
Weekly, Monthly & ad-hoc reporting, capacity related incident review on demand. Uses knowledge gained from analysis to make recommendations or resolutions. Provide trend analysis and present improvement plans specific to performance and capacity of infrastructure. Build and present detailed Capacity Reports & Dashboards on IT Infrastructure aspects.
Assesses the capacity impact of new change requests and Participates on the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as needed. Schedule and conduct review meeting with the required teams and partners.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the candidate should be:
- Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Business, or a related field. Masters Degree is a plus.
- 4+ years prior experience in IT Service Management preferably in Capacity Management.
- Strong knowledge in preparing capacity and scalability plans, Data Center Capacity Planning (Compute, Storage, Enclosure), Trending/Forecasting capacity, Infra requirement documentation, Solution management, Cost Estimation, Procurement, Coordination of Provisioning/deprovisioning, Project Coordination
- Good experience on capacity monitoring and good in diagnosing the problems to improve the availability of IT services
- Very good understanding of IT operations and support
- ITIL v3 certification (minimum foundation level)
- Advanced knowledge of the data center infrastructures, network, midrange, middleware, backup, storage, databases, IT security
- Strong attention to detail.
- Critical thinking.
- Ability to work with large amounts of data and see the big picture.
