We are inviting applications for the role of Management Trainee, General Accounting
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting all the aspects of R2R and General Accounting
Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books
Record all entries including underwriting activity, claims, investments, expenses, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, tax, corporate and legal entity allocations, eliminations, and cash
Perform analytical functions to test that results are reasonable
Build effective controls in the Lloyds accounting & reporting processes to ensure accuracy of the financials.
Help in updating the IT Systems from the business end (if required)
Review monthly close process for the non-technical companies.
Production of the quarterly Consolidation file for the non-technical companies.
Completion of the quarterly audit/ files & reconciliation of P&L/ Balance Sheet accounts/system uploads for the non-technical companies.
Maintain data quality checks of ledger data in all non-technical companies.
Preparation of the monthly/quarterly timetables for the teams that are involved in the nontechnical companies close process.
Work with team and assist with the completion of inter-group expense allocations from the service company.
Dealing with any ad-hoc queries/information requests relating to all non-technical companies.
Assist the Non-tech manager with the quarterly inter-company process/settlements, communicating with Aspen Group entities and other teams around finance including the Treasury team.
Collation of information for internal/external auditors as required and for SOX control testing purposes in respect of all non-technical companies
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
Effective communication in handling Lloyd s Underwriting Business
Postgraduate in Accounting / MBA (Finance)
Relevant experience in Closing & Reporting (Accounting cycle)
Good working hand in data analysis, MS Excel and PowerPoint proficient
Demonstrate and cultivate customer focus, collaboration, accountability, initiative, and innovation
Preferred qualifications
Understanding of closing process for an insurance P&C company
Accounting experience in the Insurance sector desired
Good understanding of London Insurance Market / Lloyd s of London
Proactive communication & High analytical skills should be able to foresee issues and suggest solutions, with impactful data
