Job Description
Job Summary
we are seeking a Lead Architect Data Engineering (GCP Data Architect) to drive a large-scale Cloud and Data Platform Modernization program. This role focuses on building a next-generation GCP Data Mesh and Data Platform as a Service (DPaaS) to enable enterprise-wide analytics and AI readiness.
You will lead the transformation of raw enterprise data into high-value Gold layer data products within a Medallion Data Lake architecture, powering business-critical BI and self-service analytics. As a key technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and future-ready.
Role Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership Delivery
- Design and implement a scalable GCP Data Mesh architecture with domain-driven ownership
- Architect and build Data Platform as a Service (DPaaS) capabilities for enterprise use
- Lead the design of Medallion Data Lake architecture, especially Gold layer datasets (Fact Dimension models)
- Define and oversee development of robust, scalable data pipelines across enterprise systems
Data Engineering Platform Development
- Develop enterprise Semantic Layer and Data Products for BI and self-service analytics
- Ensure high data quality through automated validation, monitoring, and observability frameworks
- Optimize BigQuery performance (partitioning, clustering, indexing, query tuning)
- Enable AI-ready data platforms for future advanced analytics use cases
Governance Collaboration
- Implement data governance, security, and RBAC frameworks
- Collaborate with domain and technical SMEs to align architecture with business goals
- Drive Agile delivery, ensuring timelines and milestones are met
- Act as the key liaison between delivery teams and stakeholders
Required Skills Qualifications
- 1012 years of experience in Data Engineering with 35 years in a lead/architect role
- Strong expertise in GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, GCS, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer)
- Experience in building Data Mesh, Medallion Architecture, and scalable data platforms
- Proficiency in data modeling (Star/Snowflake schema) and pipeline design (ETL/ELT)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Terraform for GCP provisioning
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and RBAC, with strong stakeholder communication skills
