Job Description
The role is responsible for leading engineering teams working across the end-to-end e-commerce ecosystem, including the digital storefront, commerce backend platform, content and product information systems, asset management systems, integration middleware, and enterprise backend systems.
The role requires providing overall technical leadership, architectural guidance, design oversight, and delivery governance across multiple teams working on the e-commerce platform and peripheral enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in headless and composable e-commerce solutions, preferably in a B2B environment, and should be well versed in customization, enhancements, testing, integrations, deployment, and technical governance across the e-commerce ecosystem.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams of 15 to 20+ members across multiple capability areas and providing technical leadership to ensure high-quality delivery of Continuous Improvements (CI), platform scalability, and engineering excellence across the e-commerce ecosystem
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise digital commerce solutions, preferably in B2B e-commerce environments, supporting complex customer journeys across web and mobile channels
- Strong experience in multi-market, multi-currency, and multi-language commerce implementations, including localization, regional configurations, and global rollout models
- Strong understanding of Headless and Composable Commerce Architecture, with experience designing and delivering decoupled solutions across storefront, commerce backend, content platforms, and enterprise systems
- Experience working across end-to-end digital commerce ecosystems, including:
- Storefront / Frontend (Web + Mobile)
- Commerce Backend Platform
- CMS / PIM / DAM platforms
- Middleware / Integration Layer / APIs
- ERP / Order Management Systems
- Payment, Tax, Warehouse, Logistics, and other downstream enterprise systems
- Proven ability to drive technical ownership of CI roadmap delivery including enhancements, new feature development, market rollouts, platform modernization, and optimization initiatives across digital commerce platforms
- Strong experience in managing day-to-day engineering execution using JIRA / Agile delivery tools, sprint planning, backlog prioritization, release planning, and engineering delivery metrics
- Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, middleware integrations, and distributed systems, with the ability to design scalable and resilient integration patterns across platforms
- Strong background in cloud-native architecture, design, and development using enterprise cloud platforms (Azure preferred) including API gateways, serverless functions, integrations, and monitoring framework
