Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will support end-to-end mechanical NPI activities working under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Mechanical Engineer. The role focuses on detailed mechanical design, CAD modeling, prototyping support, testing support, and documentation, ensuring designs meet quality, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support mechanical design execution
Develop andmaintain3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
Create detailedpartand assembly drawings with GD&T.
Support enclosure and interface design activities as assigned.
Perform tolerance stack-up and basic DFX (DFM/DFA) analysis.
Support prototype builds (CNC, 3D printing) and coordinate with suppliers.
Assistwith assembly builds and troubleshoot fit and function issues.
Support risk reduction testing and part-level testing activities.
Implement design changes and ECOs based on test feedback.
Prepare andmaintainmechanical documentation for the Design History File (DHF).
Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent.
37 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
Experience supporting NPI or product redesign projects.
Exposure to regulated industries (medical devices preferred).
Technical Skills
Strongproficiencyin SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings).
Good understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Experience with plastic and metal part design.
Knowledge of injection molding and CNC machining processes.
