About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) Government Sales who will be responsible for driving business growth through government sector engagements, tenders, empanelments, and long-term partnerships. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of government procurement processes, GEM portal, e-tendering, and should be able to establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders in ministries, PSUs, and government departments.
What youll do
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Central State Government, PSUs, and allied agencies.
  • Manage the entire tendering process from bid preparation, documentation, submission, to post-bid follow-ups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in government bodies.
  • Drive registration, empanelment, and vendor onboarding with relevant govt. agencies.
  • Monitor government procurement portals (GEM, CPP, e-procurement portals) for relevant opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical, finance, legal) to prepare winning proposals and RFP responses.
  • Achieve sales targets and revenue growth by closing large government deals.
  • Track competitor activities and market trends in government sales.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and organizational requirements while executing contracts.
What youll need
  • Proven track record in government / PSU business development sales.
  • Strong understanding of GEM, CPP, e-Tendering platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of government procurement policies, procedures, and vendor management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and long-term relationships.
  • Strong network within government departments is highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently.
