Job Description (JD) SME- SAP

Role Overview

This role leads SME- SAP as one of the ERP Practice across ERP/CRM/ITSM/HRIS with primary focus on SAP BRIM (SOM/Convergent Charging/Convergent Invoicing/FICA), S/4HANA, SAP ECC, other modules. As part of this Practice to source, screen, onboard, and deploy highquality SAP talent. The leader drives charter, governance, solutioning, delivery excellence, run operations, and staffing outcomes, partnering closely with other SAP Partners/Vendors/Service providers, Sales, PreSales, Solution, Delivery, and Customer stakeholders. Reports to Business Head; accountable for measurable business outcomes, capability scale, utilization/margins, compliance, customer satisfaction, Customer relationship and implementing best practices.

CoE Scope & Platform Landscape

  • SAP BRIM (SOM, Convergent Charging, Convergent Invoicing, FICA)
  • S/4HANA/ECC (FI/CO, MM, SD, EWM, PP/QM), SAP BTP & Integration Suite/CPI, Fiori/UI5, ABAP, CDS/OData/RAP, Basis, Security & Authorization (SoD/GRC), Solution Manager/Focused Build.
  • SAP LineofBusiness: SuccessFactors (HCM), Ariba (Procurement), Concur (Travel), Fieldglass (External Workforce), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Secondary Platforms: Oracle Fusion Cloud / NetSuite (ERP), Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O/CE), Salesforce (CRM), ServiceNow (ITSM).
  • Integration & iPaaS: SAP CPI/PIPO, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, Boomi; eventdriven (Kafka).
  • Data & Migration: ETL/ELT, cleansing, master data (MDG), SLT; mock runs, reconciliation, and cutover.
  • Testing & QE: SIT/UAT, test automation (UI/API/contract), performance baselines, transport/release governance.
  • Run Operations & SRE: monitoring/observability, incident/problem/change management, SLAs/SLOs, knowledge base and runbooks.
  • Staffing Operations (SAP): role taxonomy, skill matrices, interview rubrics, rate cards, onboarding templates, Day1 productivity labs.

Key Responsibilities

CoE Strategy & Governance

  • Define ERP practice charter (Primary SAP CoE, Secondary Oracle, Netsuite, MS Dynamics CoEs), operating model, Design Authority/ARB, governance forums (CAB).
  • Establish reusable accelerators: process templates, configuration guides, BRIM test packs (SOM/CC/CI/FICA), S/4HANA/ECC (FI/CO, MM, SD, EWM, PP/QM), integration patterns, data migration playbooks, QA/reporting dashboards.
  • Publish standards for blueprinting (fittostandard vs customization), integration patterns, testing (SIT/UAT/performance), transport/change & release governance, and hypercare.
  • Driving GTM Strategy

Sales & PreSales Enablement

  • Cocreate value propositions, GTM collateral, demos, and ROI/TCO models with Sales/PreSales for SAPfirst deals; support secondary platform bids (Oracle/NetSuite/Dynamics) as needed.
  • Own solutioning in RFP/RFI responses: scope, architecture, estimates, staffing pyramid, location model, risks & assumptions.
  • Lead POCs/pilots to derisk proposals and improve win rate; produce quantifiable case studies (cycletime , adoption , leak , utilization/margin ).

Customer Requirement Gathering & Solutioning

  • Run discovery workshops and fitgap analyses; convert business processes into blueprint/design documents across SAP and adjacent platforms.
  • Design endtoend architectures: ERP/CRM/HRIS/ITSM, BRIM flows (order rating invoice receivables), integrations (CPI/iPaaS), data migration, security & controls.
  • Align nonfunctional requirements (performance, reliability, compliance) and organizational change management plans.

Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Plan and oversee multiphase implementations (Explore Realize Deploy), enhancements, and managed support across SAP and secondary platforms.
  • Establish SRE practices: SLOs/error budgets, incident response, blameless postmortems, continual improvement; enforce SIT/UAT gates and cutover readiness.
  • Set up transport/release discipline, hypercare KPIs, knowledge base, and runbooks; ensure BRIM performance, taxation, and dunning scenarios are validated pregolive.

Staffing & Capability (SAP CoE Lead)

  • Stand up staffing operating model: demand intake, prioritization, role taxonomy, rubrics, rate cards, onboarding templates.
  • Lead multichannel sourcing (bench, referrals, partners, campuses) and build talent communities; drive prequalification for BRIM (SOM/CC/CI/FICA) and SAP core modules.
  • Own onboarding and readiness (access, transport landscape, security/compliance), Day1 productivity labs, rotations/backfills, and upskilling & certifications.

Leadership Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Publish dashboards: pipeline, bookings, revenue/margin, delivery KPIs (quality/reliability/adoption), staffing KPIs (fill rate, timetofill, utilization, attrition), and risk.
  • Run governance forums with BU leaders and executive sponsors; manage dependencies and escalations.
  • Own CoE financials: investment utilization, productivity improvements, license optimization, and ROI vs plan.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years leading enterprise application programs with 86 years in SAP delivery leadership; proven experience across SAP BRIM (SOM/CC/CI/FICA), SAP S/4HANA, ECC and other modules.
  • Handson architecture across SAP (clean core, extensions, CPI integrations) and strong understanding of Basis/Security (SoD/GRC).
  • Exposure to secondary platforms: Oracle Fusion/NetSuite/Dynamics 365; ability to govern fittostandard across multiplatform landscapes.
  • Demonstrated success in staffing operations: sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, utilization optimization, rotations/backfills, and certification planning.
  • Experience in transport/change management, SIT/UAT/performance testing, cutover/hypercare, runops and SRE practices.
  • PreSales collaboration: RFPs/RFIs, POCs/pilots, estimation/pricing, business case/ROI articulation; executive stakeholder management.
  • Datadriven decision maker with command over delivery KPIs (quality/reliability/adoption) and staffing KPIs (fill rate/timetofill/utilization/margin).

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Preferred (SAP focus): SAP S/4HANA module certifications, SAP BRIM/FICA specialization, SAP CPI/Integration Suite, SAP UI5/Fiori; Security/GRC.
  • Secondary (nicetohave): Oracle Fusion/NetSuite consultant certs, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O/CE) certs, Salesforce Admin/Consultant, ServiceNow Admin/ITSM.
  • General: ITIL, Agile/SAFe, DevOps (AZ400), SRE/Observability.
