Job Overview:
Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL
Implement and maintain MongoDB and PostgreSQL. Design and implement HA/DR policies.
Extensive experience diagnosing complex technical issues with DBs, storage, networks in a production environment.
Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating run-books etc.)
Monitor and tune performance of MongoDB and PostgresSQL databases.
Create complex project plans, perform impact analyses, solve/work high impact problems/projects, and provide resolution to restore services.
Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) post restoration of service.
Design testing approaches, complex processes, reporting streams, and assist with the automation of repetitive tasks.
Provide technical/strategic direction to team members.
Experience in migrating databases between different RDBMS
Your future duties & responsibilities
- Problem Solving Function
o Resolve production major incidents
o Remediate recurring issues via proactive or automated reactive solutions
o Reduce manual work through automation.
o Build or modify solutions to improve system resiliency, performance and efficiency.
o Build a strong team by mentoring and leveling-up junior developers
Response Function
o Build and Refine Application monitoring rules
o Advise on Major Incident Response processes
o Monitor production environments
o Conduct Post-Mortem analysis
Required qualifications for this role
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Strong experience of MongoDB and PostgresSQL databases
3+ years production MongoDB/PostgreSQL database administration
2+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding
3+ years of experience in administration of MongoDB Monitoring , Backup and Automation
Expertise in MongoDB installation, deployment and upgrade procedures including public clouds
Expertise in MongoDB database performance tuning and Query optimization
Expertise in MongoDB HA and Scalable Architecture
Comfortable in using MongoDB tools like, mongostat, mongotop, mongoexport, mongoimport, mongodump, mongorestore etc
Database Security management and User Management.
Project experience leading database migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL on-prem and Azure.
Experience designing database solutions - gathering server requirements, installing and creating databases, performance tuning, monitoring
In-depth knowledge of community version PostgreSQL architecture version 11 (or higher)
Experience investigating/troubleshooting PostgreSQL performance issues with native Postgres catalog and statistics
Experience with streaming and logical replication, HA, Backup and Recovery and Maintenance utilities including setup, configuration and monitoring
