Summary:

The Manager - Fixed Asset Project Accounting is responsible for leading fixed asset and project accounting activities across the organization, ensuring accurate accounting, strong internal controls, and compliance with IFRS and SOX requirements. This role oversees the full lifecycle of tangible and intangible assets and provides leadership for project accounting processes, systems, and team performance in a complex international business environment. The role partners closely with finance leadership, project stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement.

About the role:

Fixed Asset Management

  • Lead the overall fixed asset accounting function, ensuring accurate management of the full lifecycle of tangible and intangible assets, including software licenses and internally developed software.
  • Oversee asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, retirements, and capitalization processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Review and approve complex or high-value capitalization matters, policy determinations, impairment considerations, and non-routine transactions.
  • Ensure accurate depreciation and amortization accounting and establish robust controls, governance, and documentation standards.

Project Accounting

  • Lead project accounting activities, ensuring accurate project setup, cost tracking, cost allocation, capitalization, and close-out processes.
  • Partner with project managers, finance business partners, IT, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure proper accounting treatment of project-related costs.
  • Oversee the review and approval of project-related expenses and time charges.
  • Monitor capital project portfolios, review financial performance and variances, and define governance over project accounting processes, project master data, and capitalization controls.

General

  • Manage GL account reconciliations in BlackLine, ensuring full compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and SOX requirements.
  • Serve as process owner for relevant systems, overseeing project setup, master data alignment, and system governance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies, and lead responses to audit requests.
  • Drive process automation, standardization, system enhancements, reporting, and performance metrics.

Lead, coach, and develop team members and act as the key escalation point for complex accounting issues.

About you:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in fixed assets and project accounting. Prior people leadership, team lead, or functional ownership experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP WRP and S/4HANA (Asset Accounting module) required.
  • Experience with time management and project-related systems (e.g., MyTime and Fieldglass systems).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and SOX compliance requirements. Proven experience managing complex accounting processes in a multinational business environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required for regular interaction with regional and global teams and senior stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis);
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI/automation tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Power BI, or similar) to improve the efficiency, quality, and insightfulness of accounting work. Experience applying AI tools to analysis, reconciliation review, reporting, policy documentation, or process optimization is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance detail orientation and big-picture perspective.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong leadership presence and accountability.
  • Process improvement mindset with focus on efficiency, automation, and standardization. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across functions and levels. Proactive, solution-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
