Job Requirements*
- SAP BASIS on HANA professional responsible for end-to-end administration, monitoring, performance tuning, upgrades/patching, and high availability of SAP systems running on SAP HANA (S/4HANA, ECC on HANA, BW/4HANA). The role covers system reliability, security hardening, backups/DR, and collaboration with infrastructure, security, and functional/technical teams to ensure stable operations and successful project deliveries.
Key Responsibilities*
1) SAP BASIS Administration (Core)
- Administer SAP landscapes: S/4HANA / ECC on HANA / BW including DEV/QAS/PRD
- Manage SAP system operations: kernel updates, parameter tuning, RFC, TMS, printers, spools, background jobs
- Perform client administration, user/authorization coordination (with Security team), and system housekeeping
- Manage transports and release management governance (TMS, ChaRM if applicable)
2) SAP HANA Administration
- Install, configure, and administer SAP HANA (single-node and scale-out if applicable)
- Perform HANA monitoring, performance troubleshooting, and tuning:
- Expensive statements, memory/CPU, table growth, log volume, savepoints, alerting
- Manage HANA backup/restore, log backups, and recovery procedures
- Configure and maintain HANA system replication (HSR) where applicable
3) High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR) & Business Continuity
- Implement and operate HA/DR setups for SAP and HANA:
- ASCS/ERS with SUSE Pacemaker clustering
- HANA System Replication + cluster integration
- Conduct DR drills, document runbooks, validate RTO/RPO and ensure audit readiness
- Coordinate failover/failback and planned maintenance with minimal downtime
4) Upgrades, Patching, and Maintenance
- Plan and execute:
- SAP upgrades, Support Pack Stack (SPS/SP), Enhancement Packs
- HANA revisions, OS patching coordination, kernel patching
- Support SUM/DMO, Maintenance Planner, and downtime-optimized maintenance windows
- Maintain system health with proactive updates and vulnerability remediation
5) Monitoring, Incident & Problem Management (AMS/Run)
- Own operational monitoring and alert response using:
- SAP tools (ST22, SM21, SM50/66, SM37, DBACOCKPIT, ST03N, ST06, RZ20, SMLG, SMICM)
- HANA Cockpit / Studio / SQL / system views
- Enterprise tools (Solution Manager, Focused Run, OEM/Prometheus/Grafana as applicable)
- Drive root-cause analysis (RCA), problem management, and continuous service improvement
- Prepare operational dashboards and reports for availability, performance and capacity
6) Security, Compliance & Audit Support
- Work with SAP Security team on:
- Secure configurations, SNC/SSL, SAP router, certificates, SSO integration
- Implement BASIS-side controls: parameter hardening, interface security, patch compliance
- Support audits with evidence for backups, DR tests, access controls, change logs
7) Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain:
- SOPs, runbooks, topology diagrams, DR procedures, maintenance calendars
- Provide L1/L2 guidance and train junior BASIS team members
Eligibility Criteria: - Minimum 15 years of regular education (10th + 12th + 3 years graduation) - BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc/MS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience post-qualification - B.Sc/BCA Graduates with a minimum of 5.5 years of relevant IT experience post-qualification - Only full-time courses will be considered
