Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer - Civil to support our US residential projects. This role focuses on day-to-day project coordination, documentation, and communication to ensure smooth design and execution of residential developments in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Coordination and Scheduling Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules and trackers. Coordinate daily activities, follow-ups, and task updates to ensure milestones are met in line with client objectives.
- Design and Documentation Support Coordinate the collection, review, and circulation of preliminary layouts, architectural drawings, and 3D models. Ensure drawings and documents are updated, version-controlled, and shared with the right stakeholders on time.
- Code and Compliance Assistance Support the review of drawings and documentation for adherence to US building codes, zoning norms, and project-specific guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Communication Act as a primary point of contact for routine coordination between internal teams (design, procurement, operations) and external stakeholders (architects, interior designers, subcontractors, and clients). Schedule and document meetings and track action items.
- Cost and Procurement Support Assist in tracking project costs and budgets using internal templates and tools. Support the preparation of RFQs/RFPs, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and follow up on deliveries and services.
- Risk, Issues, and Escalation Support Flag potential delays, design discrepancies, and site-related issues to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Maintain an issue log and track closure with responsible stakeholders.
- Project Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate records of project timelines, approvals, communication, and key decisions. Prepare and update periodic status reports and trackers for internal reviews and client updates.
- Process and Quality Orientation Adhere to defined workflows, documentation standards, and review processes. Provide feedback on recurring bottlenecks and suggest improvements for smoother coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in residential design, construction coordination, or project management support (internships or co-op experience also considered).
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD/Revit and familiarity with MS Project or similar scheduling tools is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and ability to manage daily tasks in a fast-paced environment.
