Position Summary
The Team lead General Ledger & Inventory & Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing a team of GL and IRA accounting managing APAC countries. The role is very critical for accurately reporting the results of APAC region. The position reports to Team Lead APAC Shared Services
The team leader must have strong accounting skills who should be able to take ownership of reporting all financial activities related to General Ledger, inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and revenue recognition. This role ensures integrity of financial records, supports monthly and quarterly close processes, and collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and FP&A to deliver timely and reliable financial information.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Accounting
- Responsible for books close for multiple countries in APAC region
- Perform reconciliations, postings, and month-end activities in line with internal standards
- Participate in group reporting and consolidation processes
- Support external and internal auditors by providing required documentation and explanations
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and actively contribute to process excellence initiatives
- Analyse the impact of Fx Movement by country
- Prepare various reports and analysis as requested by senior management
- Support Country controllers for Statutory accounts for the countries.
- Handle ad-hoc operational and administrative queries, Monitor and analyze inventory balances.
- Oversee monthly inventory close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and variance analysis.
- Review and validate inventory transactions (receipts, adjustments, transfers, writeoffs).
- Process, reconcile, and validate revenue transactions in accordance with US GAAP.
- Review and approve monthend revenue journals, deferrals, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Subscription revenue tracking (ZUORA) and Revenue reconciliation (GL vs REVPRO)
- Review the ETP MCC pass back and ensure proper gross margins are reported
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Review balance sheet reconciliations for inventory, deferred revenue, and related accounts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
- Oversee internal and external audits, providing schedules, documentation, and explanations.
Qualifications
- Post graduation in Finance and Accounting.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting, ideally with exposure to GL accounting. inventory, cost accounting, or revenue processes.
- Ability to analyse and dig deep to find the correct answers
- Experience with ERP systems is must, preferably Oracle - Fusion
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Very good level of written and spoken English (knowledge of any other language will be an advantage)
