Job Description
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale SaaS platforms.
- Define and maintain the Azure cloud architecture strategy for the Platform Engineering organization.
- Lead the design of secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure to support SaaS health products.
- Create, evaluate, and enforce cloud architecture patterns, reference architectures, and best practices.
- Provide deep technical expertise in Azure compute, networking, data services, DevOps tools, FinOps, and security.
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
- Lead cloud modernization and migration initiatives where applicable.
Platform Engineering & Automation
- Architect and guide the development of reusable platform components, including:
- Self-service infrastructure provisioning
- CI/CD infrastructure pipelines and deployment automation
- Secrets and configuration management
- Ensure the platform meets the demands of a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
- Establish standards for operational excellence, performance, high availability, and cost efficiency.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to enforce:
- Both global and regional regulatory requirements
- Zero-trust network architectures
- Identity and access governance via Azure AD / Entra ID / KeyCloak
- Define governance for Azure resource organization, policies, tagging, and FinOps practices.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Act as a trusted advisor to product teams and cross-functional groups.
- Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance during design and implementation phases.
- Mentor platform engineers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects to build technical depth and best practices.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Azure Networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, Private Link, Firewalls)
- Azure Compute (AKS, VM Scale Sets, Functions, App Services)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Observability tools
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security, identity, and compliance frameworksespecially in healthcare.
- Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud-native tooling.
- Strong understanding of platform engineering concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications such as:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Azure Security Engineer
- Experience working in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, government).
- Knowledge of Global Regulatory requirements including ISO27001
- Experience with distributed systems design and microservices architecture.
- Strong communication, leadership, and strategic planning skill
