Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provision and configure the cloud environment (AWS or Azure): Kubernetes cluster, VPC, networking, storage and secrets management
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines: automated build, test and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions or equivalent
- Configure the observability and monitoring stack: Prometheus, Grafana or cloud-native equivalents for real-time visibility
- Establish the latency measurement infrastructure to support accurate P50/P95/P99 benchmarking under controlled load
- Implement all infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and/or Helm charts for reproducibility
- Configure RBAC, TLS encryption and secrets management across all services
- Containerise OMS/RMS backend services (Docker) and manage Kubernetes deployment manifests
- Tune infrastructure configuration for minimal network latency including instance sizing, network policies and co-location considerations
- Set up cloud cost monitoring and per-phase budget alerts to prevent overspend
- Participate in the Phase 1 architecture workshop to align infrastructure design with technical requirements
Requirements
- 4+ years of DevOps or cloud engineering experience in production environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS or Azure familiarity with both is preferred
- Proven proficiency with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS or self-managed) and Docker
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps
- Infrastructure-as-code experience: Terraform and/or Helm
- Monitoring and observability hands-on experience: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or equivalent
- Solid networking fundamentals: VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS and TLS
- Linux system administration and server performance tuning experience
Nice to Have
- Experience optimising cloud infrastructure specifically for low-latency financial or trading applications
- Familiarity with co-location or proximity hosting setups near exchange data centres
- Knowledge of eBPF, DPDK or kernel-bypass networking for ultra-low latency environments
- AWS or Azure professional-level certification
- Experience with latency profiling tools and network performance analysis
