Job Description

Job Purpose


The Group Compliance Officer ensures that all Group entities of the Bank comply with applicable regulations. This role lead the development, implementation, and oversight of a harmonized compliance framework across the Group entities.

Reporting to: Group Chief Compliance Officer of the Bank

Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Oversight:


  • Lead compliance oversight for group entities ensuring adherence to local and international regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop, maintain, and drive the Group-wide compliance program, reflecting banking regulations (including RBI and SEBI) and internal control standards.
  • Monitor and assess relevant regulatory and market developments, ensuring proactive updates and timely communications across all entities and ensuring implementation of the regulation in group entities.
  • Prepare and present consolidated compliance reports, dashboards and MIS summaries to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Lead the creation and continuous enhancement of Group compliance policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting Group Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) meetings, ensuring participation from all entity-level Compliance Officers, timely agenda circulation, accurate minutes, and follow-up on action items.
  • reviews across group entities.
  • Preparation of Board Notes and Audit Committee Notes for Group Compliance.

Compliance Monitoring:

  • Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance testing programs conducted by each subsidiary, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely reporting of findings and corrective actions.
  • Preparation of Audit committee notes & presentations related to critical issues found during compliance testing

Regulatory Affairs:

  • Oversee and coordinate Regulatory Inspections and statutory audits
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely submission to regulator queries
  • Tracking closure of actions emanating from inspection observation and review of controls implemented including reporting status to Board and Audit Committee.

Experience

  • 12 + years of regulatory compliance, or risk management experience in banking, with a minimum of 35 years at a group or multi-entity level.
  • Proven expertise in designing and embedding compliance frameworks across diverse legal and operational environments.
  • In-depth understanding of banking regulationsespecially RBI and SEBI related regulations pertaining to Banks, NBFC, AIFs etc.
