Job Title: Senior System Architect
Experience: 10+ years
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior System Infrastructure Architect with strong hands-on expertise to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. This role combines deep technical execution with architectural ownership, responsible for designing resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure platforms across on-prem data centers and cloud environments for mission-critical enterprise workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a System Infrastructure SME and technical authority for enterprise platforms, including Linux, Windows, and VMware.
Design, build, and govern end-to-end DR architectures for on-prem and cloud platforms, aligned with defined RTO/RPO objectives.
Define and maintain infrastructure architecture standards, reference designs, and DR blueprints.
Provide hands-on architectural guidance for Linux and Windows platforms across physical, virtualized (VMware), and cloud environments.
Architect and support VMware-based infrastructure, including clustering, HA, and DR configurations.
Review and approve infrastructure, DR, and platform designs for new initiatives and enterprise applications.
Drive infrastructure modernization, consolidation, cloud adoption, and DR transformation initiatives.
Ensure platforms meet enterprise requirements for availability, resiliency, performance, security, and compliance.
Partner closely with storage, backup, network, security, and cloud teams to deliver integrated infrastructure and DR solutions.
Define and govern patching, lifecycle, capacity planning, backup, and resiliency strategies.
Lead and support DR drills, failover/failback activities, major incidents, and root-cause analysis from an infrastructure architecture perspective.
Oversee architecture documentation, DR runbooks, diagrams, and operational standards.
Mentor senior engineers and act as the final escalation point for complex infrastructure and DR issues.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience as a Senior Infrastructure / System Architect in large enterprise environments.
Deep hands-on expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems.
Strong experience with VMware virtualization platforms (design, build, and operations).
Proven experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions for on-prem and cloud environments.
Solid understanding of DR concepts, including RTO/RPO, recovery sequencing, and dependency mapping.
Strong knowledge of storage, backup & recovery, networking, and security as infrastructure dependencies.
Experience architecting and governing on-prem data center environments.
Ability to translate business continuity and application requirements into infrastructure and DR architectures.
Experience working in large, regulated, mission-critical enterprise IT environments.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to cloud and hybrid infrastructure architectures (AWS / Azure / OCI).
Experience with cloud-based DR, cross-region recovery, and hybrid DR designs.
Knowledge of automation, scripting, and configuration management tools.
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
