Position Description:
The Product Owner / Functional Product Manager will work independently under limited supervision to analyse business needs, define functional requirements, and support the development of Loan Origination/ LOS/ Credit collections. This position directly impacts product quality and delivery within a key product stream. The Functional Analyst is responsible for translating business requirements into functional designs, managing user stories, supporting testing activities, and leading the functional team throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures product integrity, drives continuous improvement, and maintains high-quality documentation and knowledge sharing.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Functional Design Related:
o Responsible for translating the requirements into viable functional designs, while maintaining the integrity of the product
o Composing User Stories
o Maintaining User Stories consistent with the Features and the Development
o Spearheading the Backlog grooming
o Responsible for functional design and documentation
Testing related:
o Responsible for developing testing strategy
o Directing test script maintenance
o Developing new test scripts
o Modifying existing scripts
o Managing the work load of the testing team
Functional Team related:
o Up skilling the team on Collections / market trends
o Review and guide the work of junior analysts on the team
o Confirm the transfer of knowledge as necessary throughout the project
o Provide supervision and task management for the functional team
o Serve as the functional teams point of escalation
o Creating artifacts for knowledge sharing across different teams
User Documentation related:
o Responsible for ensuring that system and training documentation is updated for the release
o Make necessary updates to the system and training documentation
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Education Qualification: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Must Have:
5 + years' Experience as a Product Manager
Banking and Finance; Loan Origination; Debt Collection (please note this is not collection settlement in the Trade Finance or other areas of Banking), UI/UX Design; Payment Processing (Elementary preferable)
Soft Skills:
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving; Customer Centricity; Stakeholder Management; Presentation skills; Communication skills
Good to have:
Process flow and data flow; User knowledge of ASOP tools (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket); Visio;
