About the Role
We are seeking a Senior QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance function during a crucial transformation phase moving from primarily manual testing toward a fully automated, scalable QA ecosystem. This role will play a key part in defining our automation strategy, tools, frameworks, and culture of quality across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
o Define and execute the QA roadmap with a strong focus on automation-first principles.
o Establish best practices, metrics, and quality gates across all stages of SDLC.
o Build and mentor a high-performing QA team comprising both manual and automation engineers.
o Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is embedded into the delivery pipeline.
- Automation Framework Development
o Lead the selection, design, and implementation of test automation frameworks for API, UI, and regression testing.
o Drive continuous integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
o Introduce performance, security, and compatibility testing into the QA scope.
- Process and Governance
o Define QA standards, documentation practices, and test environments.
o Implement defect management and root cause analysis processes.
o Introduce metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage, and automation ROI.
- Hands-On Contribution
o Participate in critical test design, code reviews, and tool evaluation.
o Establish automation scripts for high-impact areas during early transition stages.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of QA experience, including at least 5 years in a QA leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience leading QA transformation from manual to automated environments.
- Strong knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, PyTest, Postman).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
- Experience with API testing, database testing, and performance testing tools.
- Strong grasp of Agile and DevOps principles.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python or Java-based test frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud testing environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of containerized testing (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Exposure to AI-based testing tools or visual regression systems.
- ISTQB or equivalent certification preferred.
