Designation: SAP BTP Application Development
ROLE PURPOSE
Experienced SAP BTP Developer with expertise in cloud-native application development, Fiori/UI5 apps, and SAP AI integration. Skilled in BTP service architecture, Cloud Foundry, SAP Business AI, and AI Core. Strong background in designing scalable solutions, implementing Clean Core extensibility, and building enterprise-grade applications on SAP BTP. Proven ability to lead end-to-end development projects from concept to deployment, integrating multiple SAP and non-SAP services.
Reporting to: SAP Development & User Experience Lead
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Application Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of Fiori/UI5 applications on SAP BTP, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- AI & Innovation Integration: Implement and integrate SAP Business AI and AI Core services into enterprise applications to enable intelligent, automated business processes.
- Service Architecture & Integration: Architect and manage BTP services, including Cloud Foundry, Kyma, Destinations, XSUAA authentication, and multi-target applications (MTA).
- Extensibility & Clean Core: Ensure adherence to Clean Core principles, implement side-by-side and in-app extensibility, and minimize modifications to SAP standard objects.
- Deployment & DevOps: Manage CI/CD pipelines, version control using Git, and deployment processes across development, QA, and production environments on BTP.
- Build Work Zone & Launchpad Management: Configure and manage Build Work Zone sites, Launchpad, roles, tiles, and navigation for a unified user experience.
- Performance & Resource Optimization: Monitor applications, manage quotas, optimize BTP resources, and ensure efficient usage of cloud services.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Explore and implement next-generation BTP services, such as AI-driven analytics, workflow automation, and event-driven applications.
- Introduce innovative approaches for app development and integration leveraging SAP AI, RAP, and Cloud-native patterns to enhance business processes.
- Hands on Experience and knowledge on SAP BTP Service like SAP Build( SAP Build Apps , SAP Business Process Automation)
- Collaboration & Mentoring: Work closely with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders; mentor junior developers and share best practices.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to leverage new BTP services, improve application architecture, and drive adoption of best practices across projects.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain clear technical documentation, ensure compliance with SAP and organizational standards, and support audit and governance requirements.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- BTP Fiori Development: UI5/Fiori applications on BTP, Launchpad integration, OData services, Build Apps, Build Work Zone.
- SAP AI & Machine Learning: SAP Business AI, AI Core, AI Foundation, integrating AI services into Fiori apps.
- BTP Platform Services: Cloud Foundry, Kyma, XSUAA Authentication, Destination Service, Connectivity, Quota management, multi-target applications (MTA).
- BTP Service Architecture: Design and implementation of scalable service-oriented architectures, integration with SAP S/4HANA and external APIs.
- Extensibility & Clean Core: In-App and Side-by-Side extensibility, upgrade-safe development patterns.
- DevOps & Tools: CI/CD pipelines for BTP apps, Git-based source control, BAS (Business Application Studio), SAP Web IDE, Cloud Foundry CLI.
- Integration & APIs: OData/REST services, Event Mesh, SAP Integration Suite, API Management.
- Monitoring & Performance: Application logging, monitoring via BTP cockpit, quota and resource optimization.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong SAP experience, with at least 23 years dedicated to SAP BTP development.
- Proven track record of delivering cloud-native Fiori/UI5 applications on BTP, including Build Apps and Launchpad integrations.
- Experience in designing and deploying BTP service architectures with Cloud Foundry, quota management, and multi-target applications (MTA).
- Exposure to AI projects using SAP Business AI and AI Core, including integrating AI services into business applications.
- Hands-on experience in side-by-side and in-app extensibility, following Clean Core principles.
- Experience in real-world deployment scenarios, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration in agile teams with functional consultants and business users.
- Strong understanding of BTP platform governance, monitoring, and cloud resource optimization.
- Exposure to Latest innovations in day to day Market coming in BTP ( SAP Build , SAP Business Process Automation, SAP Build Code)
