Job Description
About the Role
The Network Operations Engineer is responsible for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management in a 24x7 network operation environment. This role involves maintaining network documentation, coordinating with site technicians, OEM vendors, and other stakeholders, and ensuring network reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive Monitoring:
- Monitor network performance and detect anomalies.
- Respond to alerts and manage incident tickets.
SOP-based Troubleshooting and Incident Management:
- Perform diagnosis and SOP-based issue resolution.
- Track and follow up on open tickets.
- Maintain network documentation and perform incident trend analysis.
Advanced Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of problems.
- Respond to security incidents and support during major P1/P2 incidents.
Network Configuration and Maintenance:
- Implement and maintain network configurations, patching, and vulnerability management.
Coordination:
- Coordinate with site technicians, OEM vendors, and telcos.
- Assist during scheduled maintenance and communicate with stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and architecture.
- Create and update SOPs and provide training to L1 technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Experience in network operations.
- Knowledge of network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless devices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Willingness to work in shifts and provide 24x7 support.
