JD for Technical Lead (Development):
Role Summary
Idexcel is looking for a highly skilled Tech Lead with 1015 years of hands-on software development experience to drive technical design, architecture, and delivery across complex, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate is technically strong, has deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, Angular, and Node.js and hands-on experience with AWS cloud-hosted applications. Exposure to Go, Rust, Java, or React is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical design, architecture, and implementation of SaaS-based applications.
- Own and govern coding standards, best practices, and development guidelines across teams.
- Perform technical reviews, drive performance optimizations, and ensure high-quality code delivery.
- Guide engineering teams in selecting appropriate technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide hands-on support in solving critical production challenges.
- Develop and maintain scalable applications using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and Angular.
- Build RESTful and event-driven microservices with distributed systems principles.
- Provide guidance in implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevOps best practices on AWS.
- Drive refactoring initiatives, modernization of legacy components, and cloud-native improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security, performance, and resiliency standards.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking.
- Ensure transparent communication and alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Integrate Gen AI and LLM technologies into core workflows
- Own reliability, observability, and uptime ensuring system stability across all environments
Required Skills
- 10 to 15 years of strong hands-on expertise in Ruby on Rails, Angular and Node.js for high-throughput backend systems
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, event-driven systems.
- Proven ability to lead architecture decisions in AWS-based environments
- Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
- Experience in distributed caching and message queuing mechanisms
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams and provide technical direction.
- Experience integrating GenAI/LLMs or working with AI infrastructure (e.g., vector DBs, model APIs)
- Excellent debugging, profiling, and system performance tuning capabilities
- Knowledge of security best practices, OWASP, and cloud-native security
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or scaling commercial lending or financial SaaS platforms
- Experience with observability tools (Datadog, ScoutAPM, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Familiarity with DevOps/SRE principles and maintaining production-grade SaaS platforms.
