Job Description

DEPARTMENT: TechnologyJOB TITLE: System Support Technician REPORTS TO: Network and Security ManagerRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for administration and maintenance of company infrastructure including network, servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and server applications.
  • Assist in the design and development of the infrastructure.
  • Ensure the network infrastructure is up and running.
  • Threat hunting and remediation.
  • Must maintain overall knowledge, understanding and administration of applications on the network.
  • Responsible for asset management and license management.
  • Responsible for Active Directory management.
  • Responsible for analyzing system logs, identifying potential issues, system performance tuning, and performing routine audits of systems.
  • Responsible for applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring data communication between various sites.
  • Responsible for the security of network
  • Responsible for implementation, planning, and project coordination with company staff, vendors, associated consultants and IT staff for smooth installation and transition.
  • Responsible for Tier I & ll level support for the Help Desk and management of support tickets.
  • Responsible for computer software and hardware troubleshooting and repair on an ad hoc, emergency basis.
  • Must work in coordination with IT team and any outside computer maintenance personnel in addressing hardware problems.
  • Assist in the design, purchase, installation, and use of computer hardware, software, and supplies as needed, ensuring cost effective purchasing.
  • Provide on-going training and assistance to users on company computer systems and software.
  • Assist in the preparation of training materials for computer systems and software.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and standard operating procedures for IT department.
  • Ensures maximum up-time for computer systems and software, including support coverage for evenings and weekends where applicable.
  • Must maintain good working relationships with all company personnel.
  • Performs duties and functions according to industry recommended best practices and companys policies and procedures.
  • Endpoint imaging, including image creation/updates
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Associates degree in a related field or 2 years of related experience is required; A Bachelors degree in a related field or 4 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Experience providing IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RHEL environment.
  • In depth knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment, as well as use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies, and installation and configuration of software applications requested by end users.
  • Ability to work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements, provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and any other tasks as assigned.
  • 2+ years of experience with Advanced scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
  • 3+ years experience with Windows Server and RHEL
  • 3+ years experience with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and basic networking (i.e. VLANs, sub-netting, high availability NIC configuration, LACP).
  • A strong work ethic and self-motivated with a proven track record of completing projects with moderate direction/supervision and with an aggressive implementation timeline.
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Experience with SIEMS such as Splunk or Sentinel are a plus.
