Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our back-end operations team supporting a leading ecommerce platform. This role requires working in PST time zone to assess and evaluate pricing strike-through requests from account managers, stakeholders, and sellers while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Evaluate and process ticketing requests for price strike-through approvals from account managers, stakeholders, and sellers
- Analyze requests against established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to determine eligibility and compliance
- Identify and flag suspicious or non-compliant requests that deviate from guidelines
- Conduct detailed assessment of pricing structures and discount validations to ensure accuracy
- Maintain high quality standards while processing requests within defined TAT (Turn Around Time)
Communication & Collaboration
- Respond to account managers and stakeholders via Slack and other communication channels with clear, professional updates
- Provide feedback on rejected or flagged requests with appropriate reasoning and documentation
- Escalate complex cases or potential policy violations to senior team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve queries and clarify policy interpretations
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all assessed requests in tracking systems
- Prepare periodic reports on request trends, approval rates, and flagged cases
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, tracking metrics, and generating insights
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness in all documentation
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 6 months to 2 years of relevant work experience in operations, business analysis, quality assurance, or related fields
- Experience in ecommerce, marketplace operations, or back-end support functions is preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Logical Reasoning & Analytical Skills
- Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities to assess complex scenarios
- Attention to detail with ability to identify anomalies and inconsistencies
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate requests against policy frameworks
- Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, data validation)
- Comfortable working with large datasets and tracking tools
- Ability to learn new software systems and internal tools quickly
- Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to articulate decisions clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder management
Other Requirements
- Flexibility to work in PST time zone (evening/night shift for India-based candidates)
- High integrity and commitment to following compliance standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proactive approach to identifying process improvements
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields preferred).
