About Position:
As a ROE Lead, you'll play a leading role in designing, building, and maintaining applications that power Client's mission to accelerate social impact. You will work primarily in Ruby on Rails, contributing to modernizing our platforms, improving performance, and introducing new features that support philanthropic giving and community engagement.

What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality web applications using Ruby on Rails, following modern software development practices.
- Write test-driven code, participate in code reviews, and support high-quality engineering through pair programming and mentoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, DevOps, QA) to define, prioritize, and deliver new features.
- Support integration and troubleshooting of payment gateways and credit card processing systems, ensuring transactional reliability and compliance.
- Participate in refactoring legacy code, modernizing services, and helping shape scalable architecture.
- Continuously improve our CI/CD pipelines in partnership with our DevOps team to ensure fast, safe deployments.
- Contribute to system documentation, technical specs, and team knowledge sharing.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture grounded in learning, empathy, and shared ownership
Expertise You'll Bring:
- Strong experience developing and maintaining production applications in Ruby on Rails 6/7, with a solid grasp of modern Rails best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and database optimization, including query tuning, indexing, and performance analysis.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, including authentication, security, and webhook integrations.
- Familiarity with job queuing and background processing using Sidekiq, along with Redis for coaching and performance.
- Experience with React.js and Webpack, and a working knowledge of Rails' asset pipeline and pre-compilation process.
- Comfortable using testing frameworks such as RSpec and following test-driven development (TDD) practices.
- Exposure to AWS services (e.g., SNS) and cloud-native application design patterns.
- Experience integrating or maintaining payment gateways, e-commerce platforms, or PCI-compliant systems.
- Familiarity with both Ruby and .NET ecosystems, or prior experience working across mixed technology stacks.
