Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Lead by example by staying close to the code and architecture. Actively contribute when needed while guiding implementation with strong technical instincts.
• Execution & Delivery: Be relentlessly focused on helping your team deliver quality outcomes at speed. Spot execution gaps early and guide the team to course-correct. You take pride in delivering results.
• People Management & Coaching: Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Ensure each team member has the context, support, and feedback needed to grow and succeed. No one should be surprised by performance reviews.
• Team Leadership and Talent Development: Own recruiting, onboarding, and professional development for your team, ensuring we attract and retain top-tier engineering talent.

Preferred candidate profile

• At least 10+ years of experience in e-commerce
• At least 5+ years of experience in e-commerce on Node.js
• At least 10+ years of experience and a proven track record leading software development teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
• Has led a team of 20+ people. Is able to mentor engineers but also keep an eye on engineers who did not meet the bar.
• Strong technical expertise. You will need to either have or quickly build technical expertise in the following:

Experience in Python, Typescript

Experience in front-end web technologies including HTML/DOM/CSS, React, and Typescript.

Cloud hosting services, especially AWS

Containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)

Experience in GraphQL
