For one of our clients in the Insurance Segment, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Spring Boot, AWS cloud services, and DB2/SQL to contribute to the design and development of scalable, high-performing, enterprise-grade applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance Java-based microservices and backend components using Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable, and cloud-enabled services integrated with AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, etc.).
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations using DB2.
- Participate in the full SDLC including requirements analysis, architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and support
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define solution architecture and technical standards
- Ensure adherence to best coding practices, maintain clean code, and conduct code review
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide root cause analysis, resolutions, and performance improvements.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployment processes, and infrastructure automation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and backlog refinement.
- Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and performance issues.
- Contribute to application modernization initiatives, cloud migration efforts, and improvement of design patterns.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and mentor junior developers to enhance team capability.
Skills
Must have
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java, including modern versions (Java 8+).
- Deep experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, and microservices architecture.
- Solid working experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, EC2, IAM, Lambda).
- Strong proficiency in DB2 and SQL (queries, optimization, performance tuning).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and backend integrations.
- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and API design.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, and build tools such as Maven.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver reliable, maintainable code.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, design patterns, and modern engineering practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and teamwork skills.
