Job Description
Role Overview
The Head of Internal Audit will lead the internal audit function, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and compliance across all operations. This role is critical for safeguarding assets, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and corporate standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing environments and prior exposure to African markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive risk-based internal audit plan aligned with organizational objectives.
- Assess and improve internal controls, financial processes, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct audits across manufacturing plants, supply chain, and financial systems.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and corporate policies.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee.
- Lead investigations into fraud, irregularities, and operational risks.
- Build and mentor a high-performing internal audit team.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in governance and risk management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification.
- 1015 years of experience in internal audit, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in manufacturing industry.
- Mandatory experience in Africa (managing audits or operations in African countries).
- Expertise in risk management frameworks, internal controls, and compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Willingness to travel extensively across Africa.
Location : We have several roles on continuous basis for various companies in East and West Africa
