Job Description
Responsible for delivering high quality and timely financial reporting package (P&L, Balance Sheet, Variance Analysis, Trend Analysis, Cash flow statement, Payroll Accounting and other Month close process)
Should be subject matter expert in technical accounting, basic understanding of GAAP ability to research, document, summarize and communicate accounting issues and recommendations for those.
Should be well versed in handling/driving month close and preparation of financials.
Ownership Take complete ownership of the clients assigned, resolve team queries and take up issues for resolution.
Validation of Delivery Transformation initiatives and execution of the agreed savings
Tower Coordination To achieve client success, performance across towers should be good, escalate issues in a timely manner if things are not moving as per expectations
Responsible for overage billing and make sure recurring ones are highlighted for increasing retainer hours
Perform qualitative review of LO process with controllers/assistant controllers, conduct weekly LO review meeting with them and ensuring proper root cause, action plan is in place.
Leadership Need to hold the team at same standards as you hold yourself to guide, coach and lead the team. Need to teach them to always learn the purpose behind the process.
To pitch in proactively if the Controller/ Assistant Controllers needs support to manage things
Process - Understand current processes and standards, If you see a process not working as intended, highlight and offer suggestions /improvements.
Understand the client (what is their business, what numbers matter most, and what are their key metrics)
Team Management Need to make sure the Controllers/Assistant Controllers' are mentored and they do the role as desired, ensure that your "A Players" are motivated, not attriting from the company and proactively work towards retaining talent
Need to conduct one to one meeting with controllers/assistant controllers and provide feedback, update the progress being made on KRAs at regular intervals.
To take complete control of situations if you sense client frustrations are keeping in and resolve issues and close loop with client
To make sure time tracking for the team is accurate and resources are utilized fully.
Point of escalation for the client for all delivery requests
