Senior Manager, Data Science @ Walmart

Job Description

• Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 data scientists, driving innovation and building digital twin simulation capabilities to model and optimize supply chain performance.
• Deliver advanced analytics and AI/machine learning solutions that balance customer satisfaction, operational cost, and long-term asset efficiency.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to shape strategy, translate challenges into scalable data science solutions, and influence decision-making.
• Build and scale models, simulations, and analytics pipelines that inform policy, process design, and strategic initiatives.
• Communicate insights through compelling narratives and visuals that resonate with both technical and executive audiences.

• Proven experience leading high-performing data science or analytics teams (3-5 associates).
• Deep expertise in advanced analytics, AI/machine learning, and simulation modeling.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and cloud data platforms (BigQuery, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing (Spark, Hadoop) and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker).
• Ability to balance technical depth with strategic vision, driving measurable business outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a track record of influencing senior leadership.
