Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze customer purchasing behavior, sales data, and competitor activity to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Strategy Development: Create and implement data-driven strategies for product assortment, pricing, and promotions to meet business goals.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, secure favorable terms, and collaborate on joint business plans.
  • Product Assortment & Merchandising: Determine the ideal mix of products within the category, including planning product placement, display, and overall shelf layout.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously track and evaluate category performance against sales budgets and market trends, making adjustments as needed.
  • Sales and Promotion: Develop effective selling and marketing strategies, including promotional events, pricing initiatives, and advertising campaigns.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure sufficient product availability while minimizing holding costs and considering lead times.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, and supply chain, to align category strategies with broader business initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret market data, sales metrics, and consumer trends to make informed decisions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to develop long-term plans and strategies to maximize category growth and profitability.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial concepts to manage budgets and drive profitability.
