Job Description
We are looking for a Lead UI/UX Developer who can combine creative design expertise with strong front-end development skills to deliver high-quality, user-friendly digital experiences. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in modern UI/UX trends, AI-powered design tools, CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify) , and the ability to optimise websites for both user experience and search engine performance . The ideal candidate will combine leadership, creativity, and technical depth to guide the design vision, mentor the team, and deliver world-class user experiences.
Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end development.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX excellence and SEO-conscious design work.
- Proficiency in modern design tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision .
- Experience with AI-powered design tools and automation workflows.
- Strong coding skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript , with experience in Angular or React .
- Hands-on experience with WordPress, Shopify , and other CMS platforms.
- Deep understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and their influence on design and user experience.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Search Console for performance monitoring and optimisation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills .
- UX certification (e.g., Nielsen Norman Group, HFI CUA/CXA, Google UX Design Certificate).
- Knowledge of performance optimisation tools (Lighthouse, GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights).
- Experience with motion graphics, micro-interactions, or advanced animations.
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.
- Design, prototype, and deliver engaging web and application interfaces using modern UI/UX practices.
- Lead the end-to-end UI/UX strategy for web and mobile applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Champion the adoption of AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Uizard, Galileo AI, Figma AI plugins) to enhance creativity and efficiency.
- Drive innovation by staying ahead of emerging design trends, tools, and technologies .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into engaging, intuitive interfaces.
- Develop / Guide front-end development efforts using Angular / React , ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain websites on CMS platforms such as WordPress and Shopify , ensuring optimal functionality and aesthetics.
- Optimise website performance, focusing on loading speed, responsiveness, and SEO compliance .
- Apply SEO best practices in UI/UX design to improve organic search visibility and rankings.
- Use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor and improve website performance.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices in UX and front-end development.
- Oversee user research, usability testing, and accessibility compliance (WCAG standards).
- Mentor and coach UI/UX designers and front-end developers, fostering a culture of design excellence.
- Manage and evolve the organization s design system and component library.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on roadmap planning and delivery.
