Job description

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture, capillary, or other approved collection methods.

• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of all specimens.

• Prepare and maintain collection equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition.

• Follow infection control and safety procedures during specimen collection and handling.

• Record and document patient information accurately in the laboratory system.

• Handle and transport specimens to the laboratory promptly and safely.

• Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and notify the supervisor of shortages.
