Job Description

  • To check for daily bed occupancy and plan the days operation in both OP and IP Pharmacies.
  • To check for adequate manpower allocated shift wise on a daily basis.
  • To monitor cleanliness of the facility, ensure the arrangements and temperature monitoring of storage and the overall functioning of departmental activities on a daily basis and report to Executive or Manager.
  • Responsible to ensure the SOP adherence of pharmacy at all levels.
  • Need to train and guide staff on floors in case any difficulty in carrying out their duties.
  • To ensure availability of drugs, surgical products and consumables at any given point of time and to supervise the disbursement of medicine according to priority.
  • To get consent from the treating doctors in case of a particular brand requested is not available and if substitutes need to be issued with the help of clinical pharmacist.
  • To monitor and guide the staff in dispensing of drugs promptly to the patients.
  • To ensure that proper storage conditions are maintained for all the drugs.
  • To perform cross checking of stocks taken by staff on a daily basis.
  • Short-expiry medications are removed physically along with list that shared to Stores on a monthly basis. The same shall updated vice-versa in the software.
  • To keep adequate quantity of life saving drugs, constant check on non-moving items.
  • To arrange the non-available medicine through stores / distributors and maintain ROL. If there is a delay in delivery, request the concerned Doctors / Nurses for sufficient time and keep them informed about the same.
  • Responsible for overall inventory control and maintenance at all levels.
  • To collect and analyse the reports on issues, receipts and return medications on a daily basis.
  • To obtain the reports on dispensing error & delay monitors on a daily basis.
  • To analyse and report on the sales performance, closing stock value and stock holding days etc on a monthly basis to their respective executive or managers.
  • To obtain and analyse the consolidated reports on customer satisfaction through feedback system on a daily basis.
  • To build rapport with customer for having a congenial relationship towards effective patient care and customer satisfaction.
  • To participate in all departmental training and quality initiative measures that is in practice across locations.
  • To maintain ethical practices and diplomacy at all levels that we are dealing in our day to day transactions.
  • To follow all the rules and regulations of the organization prevails in practice from time to time.
  • To maintain the pharmacy as per the JCIA / NABH standards
