We are searching for an experienced and highly skilled professional with a strong background in Biochemistry and clinical laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will provide advanced technical expertise, leadership, and quality assurance, often taking on duties of a Laboratory Coordinator to ensure seamless operation within the Healthcare setting.
The Senior Laboratory Technician will be responsible for advanced technical execution, quality control, training, and operational coordination in the laboratory, primarily focused on Biochemistry and hematology.
Technical Execution & Quality AssuranceAdvanced Testing: Perform, interpret, and validate complex clinical Biochemistry tests, specialized assays, and advanced molecular procedures using automated and manual techniques.
Instrumentation: Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain highly sensitive laboratory instruments (e.g., automated analyzers, HPLC, mass spectrometers) and ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
Quality Control (QC): Execute rigorous daily, weekly, and monthly QC checks; analyze QC data, identify trends, and implement immediate corrective actions as needed to maintain high analytical quality and data integrity.
Method Validation: Participate in the validation and implementation of new testing methods and technologies, ensuring they meet regulatory standards (e.g., NABL, CAP).
Training & Mentorship: Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior Technician staff, providing training on new procedures, instrumentation, and best practices.
Workflow Management: Assist the Lab Manager/Head in daily Laboratory Coordinator duties, including managing workflow, prioritizing urgent tests, and ensuring rapid turnaround times (TATs).
Inventory & Supplies: Oversee the management of critical reagents and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage conditions to prevent shortages or waste.
Documentation: Review and verify the documentation completed by junior staff, ensuring accurate and compliant patient records, equipment logs, and quality documentation.
Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to all safety, infection control, and biohazard protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all Laboratory personnel.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procedures and practices comply with national Healthcare regulations, including patient confidentiality and data security.
Sample Integrity: Manage the entire sample lifecyclefrom receipt and processing to storage and disposalto maintain sample integrity and prevent mislabeling errors.
