Software Developer Engineer in Test 3-Digital Banking @ Kotak Mahindra Bank

Role: Software Developer Engineer in Test 3 As an SDET-3, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks and test solutions to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of complex software systems. You ll collaborate closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to embed quality into every phase of the SDLC. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable, maintainable automation frameworks from scratch (API, UI, and backend). Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using modern tools and languages (e g, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#). Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.). Work closely with developers to ensure high-quality code through code reviews, pair testing, and test-driven development (TDD/BDD). Lead and mentor junior SDETs and QA engineers in best practices and automation standards. Perform root cause analysis of test failures and drive quality improvements across teams. Build performance and load testing strategies (using JMeter, Gatling, Locust, etc.). Contribute to test strategy, test planning, and overall quality goverce. Champion test automation, continuous testing, and shift-left testing principles. Required Skills Qualifications Education: B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science or related field. Experience: 6+ years in software testing, including 3+ years in test automation or SDET roles. Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar. Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium. Solid understanding of API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools. Experience with CI/CD tools (e g, Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions). Knowledge of version control (Git) and build tools (Maven/Gradle). Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Good to Have Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Behave. Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus). Knowledge of microservices architecture and contract testing. Security testing exposure (OWASP, Burp Suite, etc.). Soft Skills Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to lead technically and mentor junior engineers. Ownership mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and automation excellenc
