Job Description
- As a Cost Accounting Manager at The Ksquare Group, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost accounting within the software services business. Your main tasks will include developing and maintaining accurate cost accounting systems, analyzing financial data to optimize cost structures, and providing strategic insights to drive financial performance. The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience in cost accounting within a professional services or software services environment, along with strong financial modeling skills. - Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems and processes tailored to software services projects. - Monitor project costing, including tracking labor costs, overhead allocation, and project-related expenses. - Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions to maintain budgetary control. - Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making for project profitability and margin improvement. - Collaborate with project managers to prepare cost budgets and forecasts for ongoing and upcoming projects. - Analyze budget vs. actual performance to identify cost overruns or savings and provide actionable insights. - Assist in the preparation of annual financial plans, focusing on cost control and profit maximization. - Prepare and present financial reports, including project cost reports, P&L statements, and cost variance analysis. - Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal policies, including revenue recognition for service contracts. - Manage internal and external audits related to cost accounting, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. - Develop and implement cost control processes and best practices to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency. - Work closely with the delivery and operations teams to standardize cost reporting and project financial tracking. - Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements across departments. - Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and training on cost accounting principles and best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cost accounting processes with company-wide financial objectives. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred. - 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a software services or professional services environment. - Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and project-based accounting. - Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel for financial modeling. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset. - Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to senior management. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment.,
