Position : Senior Power BI Developer (Only Immediate Joiner)
Location : Bangalore (Indiranagar)
Experience : 2 to 4 years relevant experience
Mode of Work : Work from Office (9.30 am to 6.30 pm)
Working Days : 5 Days (Saturday and Sunday Off)
Mode of Interview : Face to Face (Mandatory)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer who possesses deep expertise in data modelling, complex DAX reporting, and has a strong understanding of ETL coordination. The ideal candidate will work closely with data engineers and stakeholders to build scalable, high-performance BI solutions that deliver meaningful insights and drive decision-making. This role requires a hands-on expert capable of independently designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated Power BI dashboards while ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Development & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations tailored to business requirements.
- Implement complex DAX calculations and measures for KPIs, aggregations, and business logic.
- Apply best practices in data visualization, ensuring clarity, performance, and user engagement.
- Build and manage row-level security and user access models for published reports.
Data Modeling
- Design and implement data models (star, snowflake, and hybrid) optimized for Power BI performance.
- Create efficient, scalable, and reusable semantic models using Power BI and Analysis Services.
- Perform data profiling and ensure data quality and integrity in the reporting layer.
ETL Coordination & Data Integration
- Work closely with ETL developers and data engineers to:
- Define data extraction and transformation needs from source systems.
- Provide guidance on data architecture and schema design for optimal Power BI integration.
- Participate in the design and review of ETL pipelines, ensuring compatibility and performance in the BI layer.
- Contribute to decisions on data refresh strategies, incremental load, and data latency requirements.
Performance Optimization
- Monitor and optimize report performance through techniques such as DAX tuning, data model optimization, and query diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies across data ingestion and visualization layers.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into BI solutions.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior BI developers and analysts.
- Document solutions, processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, including Power Query (M), DAX, and Power BI Service.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling and relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Synapse, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to write complex DAX expressions for advanced analytics.
- Strong collaboration experience with ETL developers or data engineers using tools like SSIS, ADF, or custom ETL frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize Power BI performance through tuning and efficient design.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and data lakes.
- Proven track record of working in agile environments and delivering high-quality, scalable BI solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Data Platform (Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake).
- Exposure to CI/CD practices for Power BI deployment.
- Microsoft certifications related to Power BI, Data Engineering, or Azure (preferred).
