Job Role : Senior/Lead Performance Tester

Total Experience : 5+ Years
Relevant Experience : 3+ Recent Years
Team/Client Lead Experience : 1+ Recent Years
Location : Kolkata, Indore, Shillong
Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar

Role & Responsibilities :
- Define performance testing objectives and scope with stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Create realistic test scripts and scenarios emulating real-world workloads.
- Ensure test environment mimics production.
- Monitor system performance (response time, throughput, error rates, utilization).
- Identify bottlenecks, root causes, and provide improvement recommendations.
- Create detailed reports with metrics, charts, and logs.
- Communicate progress, issues, and results to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior testers, provide training, and share best practices.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams.
- Stay updated with tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate test artifacts (plans, scripts, reports).

Must Have :
- Experience in creating/executing load test plans, monitoring, analyzing results, and identifying optimization opportunities.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning concepts (GC, CPU cycles, memory utilization, context switching).
- Experience with Web/Mobile applications and Web Services (SOAP, REST APIs).
- Expertise in JMeter for load/stress/non-functional tests.
- Skills in Test Planning, Estimation, Strategy, Workload Design.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams (DBA, Dev, Sys Admins).
- Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills for production issues.
- Prior experience with LoadRunner, JMeter, Dynatrace, Splunk.
- Good Oracle DB knowledge (SQL execution plan, AWR, SQLT Reports).

Good to Have :
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and container-based applications.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration technologies (Web Services, MQ, DB).
- Experience with Visio, Gantt charts, SharePoint.
- CI integration with performance testing.
- Programming experience in any language.
- Experience with Hudson and Jenkins.
